The Spaniard rejoined Renault after a controversial year at McLaren when he accused the English-based team of giving Hamilton preferential treatment - leaving the two rivals barely on speaking terms for much of the season. "He showed me just how not to behave as an F1 Driver," said Hamilton. "I think I established myself as equal last year. He was [the leader] as the beginning, wasn't he, but it changed. Well, he thought he was at the beginning. But I don't think that should be the case, we should be a team. It should be equal." Hamilton also reiterated his desire to go one better and win the world title this year, with the first race in Australia less than two months away." Last year the only excuse was that I was a rookie and that it was all new. But this year, "I'll continue to learn, so sure, there will always be mistakes but I don't feel there is any room for error." Said the 22-year-old. "But this year, I have no doubts. I know I'm going to be better prepared. I'm already better prepared. And I think we have a better package this year." January 25th, 2008 |
